A landscape man made.

Man has created this landscape, the only one of its kind in the world, over the centuries. It was done through constant collective work, safely kept inside a treasure chest between Punta Mesco and Punta Manara, a little corner of Liguria where generations have worked to create this monument in landscape architecture represented by the steep terraces sloping down to the sea. Held up by over 7000 km of dry stone walling, cleverly built without any cement, cultivated as vineyards that reach down to almost touching the lapping sea waves. The Cinque Terre, recognized by the Unesco “Mankind’s World Heritage,” is today a National Park and Protected Marine Area to protect this great cultural heritage.

It is a guide to the Cinque Terre, Portovenere, Lerici, and the trails in the Cinque Terre, and the nearby “Riviera di Levante,” it covers the five villages of Vernazza, Manarola, Corniglia, Riomaggiore, and Monterosso as well as the nearby Portovenere and Lerici.

It includes a complete section on Cuisine in The Cinque Terre and in Liguria, which is covered extensively.

There is a section on mountain bikes rentals and trails and of kayak rentals.

It contains many reviews for the best-recommended restaurants and places where to stay; you have the essential information ready: it includes the name, address, and telephone number in the guide with the review.

Cinque Terre is a guidebook for travelers to Italy by Enrico Massetti. It is quite different from many other guidebooks because it is illustrative – easy to find the location. While guiding you to places you want to go, the book also tells you where to visit besides your final destination.
Along the way, the book also tells you about the culture, history, and traditions of every place you walk in and out. If one is traveling to Italy and want to enjoy the journey, must have Cinque Terre. The book also recommends where to stay and eat –
The author has used quite amazing photos to illustrate all your traveling destinations in Italy

Good information. I just wish the picture would have been in color. Black and white pictures didn’t do the area justice

    1. Hi Kelly,
there is now a version with color photos, it costs a little more but it’s worth it!
